My Why:

We all have a God-given purpose in life…a calling. Sometimes it’s not what we originally thought it would be, and life shifts our perspective. After teaching for 8 years, my mother was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. I quit teaching and went all over the country with her, chasing the cure. Along the way, I learned things and met people who changed the trajectory of my life forever. After her passing in 2019, the world was struck by COVID 19, which led to a self-reflection and discovery that landed me here today.

My calling is to help others through the grief I experienced of losing a loved one by providing the celebration of life that they deserve, one that is reflective of their amazing lives and the memories surrounding them. Through this process, I will help to change the darkness of death into the light of memories, love and celebration.

What we do:

BRIGHT MOURNINGS is a start-to-finish concierge celebration of life planning service, that provides both traditional and non-traditional experiences for all situations: expected or unexpected passings, young or old. I will help navigate each piece of the complex process that comes along with a death in the family. Whether we are working within funeral homes or outside of them, you will be able to focus on your grief and surviving loved ones, and not the logistics.

The uniqueness of each person’s life and legacy will be on full display.

I can collaborate with churches, funeral directors, caterors, florists, musicians, family and friends to make sure the service runs smoothly, from start to finish. Before and after the services, I will be making sure that you are left with no worries to add to your plate!

When all is said and done, you will be left feeling not only at ease, but proud of the presentation of the life and legacy of your loved one in an intimate, personalized celebration of life they truly deserve.

Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
